The Coalition for Responsible Taxation (the Coalition) is comprised of more than 20 major industry associations in the Bahamas representing some 700 comnpanies and 60,000 employees.

Coalition spokesman, Lana Brogdon, said: “The WakeUp Bahamas Campaign has been very successful so far, and has generated thousands of petition signatures in support of delaying a decision on VAT until implications and alternatives are researched.

“However, more signatures are required. To that end, Wednesday, March 12, will be observed as WakeUp Wednesday, and businesses aligned with the Coalition will wear WakeUp Bahamas t-shirts highlighting the petition website: WakeUpBahamas.com.
