Sandals honoured as top scuba diver

Sandals Resorts International has reinforced its scuba diving credentials after reaching 50,000 certifications to become one of the premier dive divisions in the world.

The award was bestowed upon the company by PADI Worldwide, the world’s leading scuba diving authority, after reaching a milestone that sees Sandals become one of the world’s top five companies for scuba.

Each of the Caribbean-based company’s resorts offers scuba diving, as well as a wide array of other water sports, as part of its Luxury Included vacation experience.

Adam Stewart, Sandals’ chief executive, said: “There are so many reasons why our guests choose a Sandals or Beaches Resort, and there is certainly no mistaking their choice of our resorts when diving is one of the deciding factors.

“Safety, world-class customer service and the best Caribbean dive sites all matter to our ever-growing diving clientele. Having world class partnerships such as we do with PADI is also a major part of our business.”

“At Sandals and Beaches Resorts, our guests get the best of everything and scuba is no different. This is a PADI Five Star operation that offers 510 different dive sites, from wreck and wall diving to night and shark dives, and all with the highest safety record around. The best part is that, for accredited divers, it’s all included,” Mr Stewart added.

With 24 resorts across seven Caribbean countries, Sandals boasts a 270-strong fleet of motorised and non-motorised boats, a high ratio of instructors and customised deep-dive freshwater training pools, as well as its own marine division that maintains and services all the company’s dive equipment and boats.
