Exuma festival to celebrate 10th anniversary

THE Exuma Heritage Festival will celebrate its 10th anniversary this weekend - with organisers promising to make this year’s celebrations the biggest in its history.

The festival starts tonight with a gospel night, with tomorrow kicking off the weekend events with an All White evening. This will be followed on Saturday by a Junkanoo Masquerade.

The line-up features artists such as D Mak, Gino D, Funky D, Nita, Veronica Bishop and Dyson Knight.

Kalik is once again sponsoring the event, and committee member Andrew Bonomy welcomed the company’s involvement.

He said: “It’s always a pleasure to have Kalik, The Beer of The Bahamas, a platinum sponsor from the inception of the festival, on board once again this year.

“We look forward to creating a festive atmosphere, where tourists and locals alike can come and experience Bahamian music and culture at its best.”

Kalik brand manager Jannifer Thurston, said: “Being able to be a part of this historic cultural festival from its inception is indeed a privilege, and we look forward to assisting with the proliferation of Bahamian culture in all art forms.”
