Second arrest over murder of man out on bail

POLICE arrested a second man early Tuesday morning in connection with the murder of 26-year-old Troy Bodie.

Bodie, who was out on bail for assault and armed robbery, was shot and killed Tuesday, February 25, at Panza Court.

According to reports, around 9:40am that Tuesday, police arrived on the scene and found two men suffering from gunshot wounds in an incident that was described as an attack of “retaliation.”

Both men were taken to hospital, but Bodie died of his injuries a short time later.

Police have already charged one man, 20-year-old Edward Johnson, of Fleming Street in connection with this murder.

The second man, a 21 year old of South Beach was arrested around 2:40 am Tuesday by officers of the Flying Squad.

Investigations are continuing.

Officers from the Flying Squad, acting on intelligence, also arrested a 21-year-old man of Bamboo Boulevard, in connection with an attempted murder.

In other crime news, police are asking for the public’s help in solving an armed robbery that was committed late Monday night.

According to reports, around 11pm a man was standing in front of a residence located at Peardale Road when a man armed with a handgun robbed him of his 2002 silver Honda Accord license number and sped off.
