Prime Minister Perry Christie announced in Parliament last week that he proposes to advance the name of Sean McWeeney - the former Attorney General - to be the Bahamas’ first non-resident Ambassador to the Vatican.
The move to appoint Mr McWeeney follows Mr Christie’s own meeting with the Pope at the Vatican in November last year.

SO how much will this nonsense cost us? We're being told our finances are in such bad shape we need new taxes. Yet we can spend money on something as unnecessary as an ambassador to a church?!?!?
