Man in hospital after Arawak Cay shooting

POLICE have issued an appeal after a shooting that left a man in hospital early on Monday morning.

Shortly after midnight, a man was at the western end of Arawak Cay when he was approached by a masked gunman, who robbed him of his red and white trail motorbike.

The gunman shot him in the leg before speeding off on the bike.

The victim was taken to hospital, where he was said to be in stable condition.

• Police have detained 11 people during recent saturation patrols for outstanding court warrants and a further 211 drivers were cited for various traffic violations.

• A special ‘Spring Break’ Unit conducted an operation in the downtown area on Sunday that led to three arrests for outstanding warrants, and a further 15 drivers were cited for traffic violations.
