Nassau Rowing Club to hold ergathon

THE Nassau Rowing Club (NRC) is all set to hold its second annual ergathon at the Club One Fitness Centre in Sandyport Plaza 6am to 6pm on Saturday, March 22.

The funds raised will assist in defraying competition costs for our junior rowers who will compete at the Miami International Regatta on April 5.

In addition, proceeds will facilitate lowering participation costs for the upcoming “Learn-to-Row” camp this summer, where we hope to introduce more Bahamians to the sport.

The NRC is a not-for-profit organisation, and was established in August, 2012, by six rowing enthusiasts with the aim of developing the premier competitive rowing programme in the Bahamas for rowers of all experience, age, and fitness levels.

As the first rowing club in the Bahamas, the NRC fielded the first competitive rowing entry from the Bahamas in the history of the sport - a junior varsity men’s double scull at the 40th Annual Miami International Regatta in April, 2013.

This year, the NRC has entered a novice men’s coxed four, and a women’s double scull at the 41st Miami International Regatta, where the crews will compete against local clubs and high schools.

The NRC is proudly supported by Holowesko Pyfrom Fletcher, Counsel & Attorneys-at-Law, Club One Fitness Centre, Odyssey Aviation Bahamas, PCL Imports, SMG Cabinetry, Lyford Cay International School and SunTee.
