Bahamas fishing again in the spotlight on USA Today website

FISHERMEN in The Bahamas are back in the global spotlight.

The Bahamas Sport Fishing Network (BSFN) is featuring in a slide show on the USA Today website.

This is the second time that BSFN has featured on the site, with the previous slide show receiving hundreds of thousands of views. USA Today’s Travel section averages about 29 million viewers each month.

Tim Thompson, of BSFN, said: “The slide show is a diary of pictures called ‘A day of deep-sea fishing in the Bahamas’ and tells a story of what it would be like out on a day’s fishing trip in the Bahamas. It begins at dawn and ends with the sharks feeding on the scraps at dusk.

“These are very exciting times for BSFN as we not only get to share something we are extremely passionate about but we also get the opportunity to provide the Bahamas with amazing global exposure as well.

“After the first three days of our very first slide show, which debuted in February, we were already approaching 500,000 views.

“The show was so successful that USA Today Travel has asked us to make this a regular monthly feature with them.”

BSFN would like to get the Bahamian fishing community actively involved by sending fishing photos to feature on their website and also to possibly go global on the USA Today slide shows.

Mr Thompson said: “We would love pictures from all over the Bahamas, from as far south and Mayaguana (sp) all the way north to Grand Bahama and Abaco.”

Photos can be submitted to info@bahamassportfishingnetwork.com or via our website at bsfn.biz.
