Two members of the Value Added Tax (VAT) implementation team, Adel Gay (left) and Hugh Chase (right), provided details on the tax and why it was chosen over alternative reforms to a meeting of Oakes Field Primary School’s Parent-Teacher Association (PTA).
They also gave a list of breadbasket items that will be VAT-exempt. The extent of items, including sandwich meats, milk and mayonnaise, to be exempted from VAT was welcome news to attendees.
