Book on business for beginners

AN entrepreneur has launched a new book on business for beginners - and is embarking on a tour to accompany it.

Raquel Beneby-Hart, of Grand Bahama, has released the 100-page book Business Basics For Beginners, which is what she describes as a “solution-driven, business readiness book”.

A statement accompanying the book’s launch said: “Every year in the Bahamas, thousands of students leave high school in search of jobs. The question is everyone is seeking to be an employee but who is seeking to be the employer? Simple answer, develop more local entrepreneurs. Or is it really that simple when the failure rate for small businesses is so high?”

Topics in the book include business idea development, strategic planning, marketing, financial planning, getting started and maintaining the business.

The author - a former director with the Grand Bahama Chamber of Commerce, will be travelling around the islands of the Bahamas providing free business workshops, taking part in motivational visits to high schools and premiering The Journey of a Bahamian Entrepreneur, a video which highlights stories of entrepreneurs from around the Bahamas.

The tour starts in New Providence on March 28, continuing there until March 31 and concluding in Acklins and Crooked Island in November.
