AS AN emerging Bahamian musician, Chorus is seeking to find his place and make his presence felt locally and internationally.

But before setting his sights on global success, Chorus said he is adamant that Bahamians first know who he is and what his music is all about.

The new artist, who performs reggae music, is in the process of completing an album that he will release in the summer when he will officially introduce himself to local audiences.

Chorus said he is anticipating the release of the album.

“I started recording music in 2004, but my career did not start until 2008. Finishing up my summer EP, ‘So Excited’ and singles dropping monthly – ‘International Hustle’, ‘Mama, I Made It’, and ‘My People’, just to name a few,” he told In Ya Ear.

Chorus considers himself a “tuneful reggae artist” with “a rare but melodic sound.”

After he began recording six years ago, he started a production company by the name of Universal Kartel.

In 2009, Chorus partnered with a company called Wonderful Entertainment.

He has worked with different artists, including Plus Givens, GMoney-Flow, Professor B, Trouble E, Gilla C, Diggit Bless, Brent B and more.

“I have been featured on other artists’ mix tapes and albums, and only have one of my old mix tapes, ‘Music In Me’ on Datpiff (online platform), which was released in 2011. I also have plenty of singles ready for you to download online on my website,” he said.

Chorus said he finds the necessary inspiration he needs for further his music career in almost anything, however, every time a new day dawns he is motivated to keep pressing forward to and achieve the goals he has set himself.

“My parents, my wife and kids, the struggle, and people in need all inspire my music.

“They are the things I am most passionate about. I love to help people however I can, whenever I can,” he told In Ya Ear.

As a new artist, Chorus said he has to put a lot of work out on a regular basis to make himself a success.

“Basically, I am living a new age vampire life.

“I get not no sleep because I am hard at work,” he said.

Elements of Chorus’ music are inspired by many local and international artists, including Baha Men, KB Beanie Man, Shaggy and Bob Marley.

“I respect every artist for doing what they do, but my influences come from life experiences.

“My sound is something I have studied for the past 10 years, and there is no sound like my own. I am not being arrogant, but I am confident,” he said.
