Rockets v Shockers tonight

THE Pyramid Food Rockets and the Real Deal Shockers are scheduled to square off tonight to determine who will go on to play in the Vince Ferguson divisional final in the New Providence Basketball Association.

On Monday night at the AF Adderley Gymnasium, the Rockets pulled even at 1-1 in their best-of-three series against the Shockers with a 90-85 victory. The winner of tonight’s game will go on to play against the defending champions Mail Boat Cybots, who swept the Island Luck Pros in their series that concluded on Monday with their 101-98 decision in game two.

The John Archer divisional final was set on Saturday night as the Commonwealth Bank Giants swept the Double R Cleaners and the PJSC Stingers did the same against the Y-Care Wreckers. The Giants and the Stingers will now meet in their divisional final starting tonight at 9pm.

Rockets 90, Shockers 85

Tamaiko Moxey led six players in double figures with 17 points and four assists for Pyramid Food’s win. Barry Carter had 16 points, 13 rebounds and four assists, Henderson Curry and Fabian Lightbourne both had 14 points and seven rebounds, Kevin Hinsey had 13 points, eight rebounds and five assists and Ryan Turnquest helped out with 10 points.

For the Real Deal, Dion McPhee scored 19 points with five rebounds, Vernon Stubbs had 14 points and nine rebounds, Salathiel Dean had 13 points and 10 rebounds and Floyd Armbrister added 12 points with seven assists and six rebounds.

Cybots 101, Pros 98

Eugene Bain scored a game high 36 points with 17 rebounds to pace the Mail Boat to victory. Jermaine Storr had 20 points with seven rebounds and Mitchel Bain added 16 points with six assists and five rebounds.

In a losing effort, Ron Marshall scored 25 points with four rebounds. Kevin Wright had 19 points, seven rebounds and five assists, Ardorn Charlow had 18 points and 12 rebounds and Derek Ferguson chipped in with 15 points.

Game one of the winner of tonight’s match between the Rockets and the Shockers, who will earn the rights to play the Cybots, will now be played on Friday.
