Suspects shot during arrests

POLICE were forced to shoot a wanted man in Acklins yesterday when he reportedly attacked the officers with a cutlass during his arrest.

Shortly after 1pm, police armed with a warrant went to the home of the suspect in Acklins to arrest him for failing to attend court. When officers tried to arrest him, he reportedly attacked the police, leading to one officer shooting him in the leg. He was taken to the local clinic and later airlifted to Nassau for treatment. He is now under heavy police guard at the Princess Margaret Hospital.

The suspect was wanted for assault with a deadly weapon, causing damage and resisting arrest.

• Three men were arrested by police and are accused of breaking into a home on Tuesday night in New Providence. According to reports, shortly before 11pm, police received a call of a burglary in progress at a home on Podoleo Street. When police arrived, they said they spotted three people fleeing from the back of the home. A man, 24, and two teenagers, 17 and 16, were arrested by police. A number of stolen items were found in their possession. During the arrest, one of the suspects was shot in the leg. He was taken to hospital in stable condition where he is under heavy police guard.

When will the police learn to shoot properly? Center of mass. Preferably with a shot gun.

LOL...guess they have been getting too much bad press lately with the shoot to kill concept...I'm all for it personally, but people getting upset that their thugs of children are getting their just dues...
