Warriors are No.1

CHAMPIONS: They entered the final day of competition clinging to the slimmest advantage (half-a-point), but the Carmichael Primary Warriors extended their lead with a dominant performance yesterday to claim the New Providence Primary Schools Sports Association’s 4th Annual Bertha’s Go-Go Ribs Track & Field Championships.

The Warriors took the 2014 title with a total of 223.50 points to beat out three-time defending champions Cleveland Eneas and Albury Sayles, who ended up tied for second with 203 points. Thelma Gibson finished third with 179 points Sadie Curtis was fourth with 152 points and just edged out Yellow Elder who closed out the top five with 151 points. On an action-packed day three (see photos and results in Friday Sports), Carmichael Primary claimed medals in eight events, including three gold medals.
