POLICE are on the hunt for four men who shot and critically injured a man early yesterday morning.

According to reports, a man was at his home in Misty Gardens off Marshall Road when four men broke into his house and shot him in the stomach before fleeing with his laptop. The incident occurred around 5am.

The victim was taken to hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact police at 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 328-TIPS.

Investigations are continuing.

Police also arrested a 27-year-old man of Yamacraw Hill moments after he had robbed a convenience store.

According to reports, shortly before 6:30pm on Wednesday, police received a report that a store on Buttonwood Avenue in Pinewood Gardens had just been robbed by a gunman.

Southeastern Division Officers on mobile patrol immediately responded and spotted a man fitting the description of the suspect running away from the area of the store with a bag.

Officers chased the man and arrested him after a short foot chase.

Police found a loaded handgun and a handbag taken during the armed robbery in the suspect’s possession.

The suspect is facing several charges, including armed robbery, possession of an unlicensed firearm, and receiving.

Police also arrested two men, ages 29 and 23, with a 56-year-old woman after they were found in possession of two unlicensed firearms on Thursday.

According to reports, officers from the Flying Squad executed a search warrant at an Eastern Road residence near Village Road, where they uncovered two handguns.

The three suspects were taken into custody and are expected to face firearm related charges at a later date.

Investigations continue.
