TWO MEN are in police custody after they were arrested and accused of murder late on Thursday night.

According to reports officers from the Flying Squad, acting on intelligence, arrested a 43-year-old man of Straw Flower Road for questioning in reference to murder. His arrest occurred shortly after 9pm and a few hours later, around 1am yesterday, officers from the Firearms Tracing and Investigations Unit, again acting on intelligence, arrested a 23-year-old man of Windsor Lane, also for questioning in connection with murder.

Police also arrested a 20-year-old man from Step Street, Fox Hill, on Thursday on suspicion of armed robbery. According to reports Eastern Division Officers, acting on intelligence, arrested the suspect at his residence in connection with the incident that occurred on Wednesday. Police also recovered a motorcycle taken during the robbery. Investigations are continuing.

Police are also asking the public for help in locating three men wanted for two separate armed robberies.

In the first incident, shortly after 11:30am on Thursday, police say two men armed with a handgun robbed a business establishment on Shirley Street along with its employees of cash, jewellery and cell phones before fleeing on foot.

In the second incident, shortly before 8:30pm, a man armed with a handgun robbed a convenience store on Darling Lane before fleeing on foot.

The suspect is described as a dark male, wearing a pair of blue jeans, white shirt and a tan cap. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 911, or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-991 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 328-TIPS.
