A 25-year-old man is dead after he was stabbed multiple times during an argument over “one dollar” around 5pm on Thursday at Wilkinson and Augusta Streets.

According to reports, the victim, who sources identified yesterday as Valentino Rahming, was involved in an argument with another man over a dollar which resulted in Rahming being stabbed multiple times with a knife in his chest, neck and arms. The suspect fled the area on foot in an unknown direction. Sources say the argument over the dollar happened after a game of dice. Rahming was taken to hospital by ambulance in critical condition. He died of his injuries a short time later during surgery.

Police do not have a suspect in custody, but they say they are actively seeking a person of interest.

This murder happened nearly 24 hours after a man was shot, execution style, in Mason’s Addition and 48 hours after National Security Minister Dr Bernard said crime, specifically murders, are down in New Providence.

According to reports, the deceased – who was identified yesterday as Clarence Coakley, aka “Drops” – was sitting at the back of a home around 9:30pm, when a man armed with a handgun, approached him and shot him in the back of his head before fleeing on foot. Coakley was pronounced dead at the scene.

Anyone with information on either of these homicides is asked to contact police at 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 328-TIPS.

This clearly cannot be classified as a murder...this unfortunate man committed hari-kari and fell on that blade on his own accord...carry on, nothing to see here.

WELCOME TO THE WILD WILD WEST...I feel like everytime I read the papers I am transported to watching an old country western film. Gamblers cheating in the saloon and get shot or stabbed...LOL!!!

What's next prostitutes getting dragged through the streets behind cars...

Those "good old days" weren't much better. We need better days where people know how to settle differences without resorting to violence

A plate of food or a dollar... its all just senseless. Senseless murders.

What a shame. I'm sure the church could have used that dollar to help buy baby food for some "underprivileged" mother struggling to raise her seventh child.

$1 which luckily as Bahamians is still equivalent to the US dollar although with the continuous murders against our own Bahamians, tourists and international representatives we're head in the direction of a country who would have to beg the US WHICH IS OUR NATIONS CLOSEST INTERNATIONAL DESTINATION (Florida). Although, it appears majority of the young men being murdered don't contribute to NIB which is a supposedly a revolving monetary process as one contributes the elders are able to live. Our country is going to the slop bucket and we know how stink a slop bucket can be. Action needs to be taken by the law enforcers and those that are head of state flying here and there all over the world to mend ties and seek investments and arrangements for tourism I which we thrive off of. We have to fix the issues I which we face at home first in order for any one to travel to country. We are now being worldly scrutinized by tourist who have visited the Bahamas and have encountered criminal acts. Google-The Bahamas and the results are not promising for tourist. It appears that the govt no matter who that may be doesn't run the Bahamas. The jungalisssssss, hoodlums, Dottas and those that feel a gun makes them superior run the bahamas. Bahamas gettin like the US surrounding everything once I still gettin my check although I ain't doing my job skkkk suckin my teet it's whatever.

Gambling is more prominent now, than ever before, especially, as it is a quick source of money as many see it to be. such crimes will escalate.
