The Rotary Club of East Nassau. - The Rotary Club of East Nassau (RCEN) has continued its support of Project Read with a donation of $5,000, the second such donation the club has made to Project Read this year.

Project Read was actually started by RCEN in 1991 as an adult literacy program and is now a stand alone, not-for-profit organisation helping both adults and children with reading difficulties through one on one tutoring. All tutors are volunteers and once paired with a student lessons are held privately in a place of the tutor’s and student’s mutual agreement with classes progressing at the students pace.

All learning materials are provided to students free of charge and in order to cover these cost, Project Read relies entirely on donations from corporations and community members and clubs such as Rotary.
