A MAN, who was reportedly released from prison last week, became the country’s latest murder victim after he was shot multiple times while playing dominoes yesterday afternoon.
It happened around 1pm on Olde Corner off East Street.
Officer in charge of the Central Detective Unit Superintendent Paul Rolle said two men walked up to the victim and shot him multiple times before fleeing the area.
“Sometime around 1pm, police received reports that gunshots were discharged in the Odle Corner area. Officers responded and met a male suffering from multiple gunshots about his body,” he said.
“Preliminary investigations reveal that the victim was sitting under a tree playing dominoes with three other males when two males emerged from the northern side of the street.
“One of the men, who was armed with a handgun, approached the victim and began discharging shots in his direction.
“The victim got up and attempted to run, but collapsed a short distance away.
“We believe that the assailants then ran west, got into a green Honda and left the area.”
Police have not officially identified the victim, but The Tribune understands he is 24-year-old Kenthley Milfort.
Milfort was released from prison last week.
He was charged, with his brother, Devron Patterson, also known as Li’l Ron, of the May 2011 shooting death of Andrich Charles.
Charles was shot to death as he sat in his car with a relative at Bull Dog Alley off Gibbs Corner.
Last June, a judge declared a mistrial in the murder case after a jury was unable to reach an acceptable verdict.
The brothers’ retrial began two weeks ago.
The victim’s grandfather, Narcis Milfort, said although his grandson had a troubled past, his death was a shock.
He said: “I was home, (in) Carmichael Road, when my granddaughter tell me Kenthely dead. I still do not believe it.
“I do not know why someone would kill him. Three years ago they say he kill a guy through the next corner so maybe that’s why, but he was still a good boy. He just come out of jail last week and they just let him go, now they kill him.”
Supt Rolle said police cannot confirm if this murder was an act of retaliation. He said police are following some leads.

Old man...he was not a good boy. Please stop telling people that...if he was a good boy he would not have been in jail and he would not have had a troubled past. These people need to stop fooling themselves, these men are not good. Good people don't intentionally kill people...
Sorry for his family, but realistically you live a life of crime do not be shocked when it comes back around. Maybe was attempting to clean up his life, but every action has consequences and just because a person chooses to turn life around doesn't mean the past won't come back. You plant a seed and walk out the garden, doesn't mean it won't grow cause you decided to ignore it.
They need to start teaching these young men...life actions have consequences. You can't dally in crime and then when you decide to move on expect people to forget what you have done. SMH!!!!

Sad but true. Moral of the story... don't let criminals out of jail (or on bail). If this young dead man was innocent and a good boy, as grandpa would like to believe, then this murder is a shame indeed. However, if he and his brother did indeed murder Andrich Charles in 2011 then excellent, he got what he deserved. Now go get his murdering brother.

If one murder is bad then two is even worse. The last sentence of "sickened' post is actually telling someone to go out and commit another murder! If this 'go get him' type of justice was working, there should have been a decrease in murders, so why is it continuing to increase?
