Now Dr Minnis is feeling the pressure

EDITOR, The Tribune.

During the days before the 2007 election and beyond Hubert Minnis and Hubert Ingraham were inseparable. Minnis was Ingraham’s shadow, if not anything else. Everywhere you saw one, you saw the other.

Ingraham anointed Minnis’ head with oil and made him his political son. He was given a sure FNM seat as a gift. He won in 2007 and 2012.

Afterwards he was given the leadership of the FNM. There was no real election.

Minnis soon began to stick out his chest believing that he has now risen to his position in life on his own power. He even stated that Ingraham’s time was over and that he should stay home and be quiet.

He showed his ingratitude by literally “throwing Ingraham under the bus” and spinning tyres on his head.

But now Minnis feels the pressure and needs Ingraham to help him, because he can hear the footsteps coming. But he is desperate, and would do anything to win.

This is laughable at best. Really, who thinks up this nonsense.

I wonder if the writer of the above letter was present at the one day convention when Dr. Minnis was elected leader of the FNM and Mrs. Turner only won over Desmond Bannister when Rev. Sweeting, who was not to introduce him offended many especially the women by his comments.

I know because I was a witness and a voter.
