Man shot dead while sitting in car

A 34-year-old man was shot multiple times and killed while sitting in his vehicle near Caves Village on Sunday night.
His death brought the year''s murder count to 99, Chief Superintendant Paul Rolle, head of the Central Detective Unit (CDU) said yesterday.
According to reports, the victim, who The Tribune understands is Michael Antoine Russell, was sitting in a 2004 Nissan Primera around 10pm when two men in two separate vehicles began shooting at the car.
The victim attempted to get away, but crashed into bushes on West Bay Street just east of Caves Village.
When police arrived on the scene they found the lifeless body of the victim slumped over the steering wheel with gunshot wounds to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Acting on information, shortly after 11pm, police took a 25-year-old Yellow Elder Gardens man into custody for questioning in connection with the shooting.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-991 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 328-TIPS.
Last week Tuesday two men were killed in separate shooting incidents.

When will it stop please? Who are the thugs going around shooting people and why, why are they doing it. For goodness sake what is becoming of the country? Have the thugs won over the authorities? seems so.

the government of the Bahamas needs to amend he gun laws and impose stiffer ones we need a crime deterrent ,20 yrs or more if you are found with an unlicensed firearm.

Why did they have to do it they killed my most favorite uncle mikey God knows how much i loved him why did they have to do it he cared so much for our family i wish those perpetrators get hang for what they did my uncle was a innocent christian man these niggas who are trying to be thugs need to stop and realize there are other people out there too not just them selves they need to wake up what are they doing it for.
