Loretta calls for unity in the FNM

FNM leadership candidate Loretta Butler-Turner has pledged to make every effort to keep the party unified during the lead up to its convention and beyond.

“FNMs must remain as a unified organisation now and after the convention,” the Long Island MP said.

“Our political opponents are the PLP and we must remain focused on keeping their feet to the fire and bringing good governance to the Bahamas,” she said to FNM delegates in North Eleuthera this week.

She also pledged to make every effort to enhance the economy of Eleuthera if the FNM wins the next election.

This week, FNM Chairman Darron Cash conducted an election for officers for the Long Island Constituency Association.

While on Long Island, Mrs Butler-Turner thanked her constituents for their continued support and prayers in her bid to become leader of the FNM.

The convention is set for November 21.

Apparently BLT said the same thing to Long Island. She will do something when the FNM wins the government. Sounds just like Jimmy Knowles of yesteryear. I can't pick up a phone to encourage foreign investment nor lobby with ministers for expenditure in my constituency. No I have to sit my considerable backside down and DO NOTHING until my party wins the government so I can beg my leader to find some money to spend in my constituency, So sad Hubert insured this woman had safe seats. She has no idea where to start except with a plate of food.

Where do you live?????????? LBT is far more involved in the social goings on in Long Island than Jimmy or Larry ............. Jimmy was in Opposition for a long while but most of the infrastructure here today was put in during 1992-2002. Larry was a disappointment based on the ground support he had from the people in 2002. He did little to advance Long Island after turning FNM. LBT has been quite involved in the social life of Long Island and the jury is still out on her after 2 years.

I still can't figure out why so many Bahamians sit around waiting for their Elected "servants" to Do something for them! Get of yer keister and TELL them what needs doing! We bind ourselves into modern day slavery and poverty when we place these people on these pedestals they are only too willing to sit upon. Look at how they're steam rolling VAT right on us, needing it to cover their decades of political cronyism and sticky fingers. BOTH Parties! How we slunk up to the elected in dark corners to "fix this for me" If every Bahamian scooped up a bucket of sand we could move a beach, instead we brain each other with the buckets while the elected laugh their way to the Treasury!

When I read such things coming out Comrade Sister Loretta’s mouth, how she pledges make every effort to keep the party ‘unified’ during the lead up to its convention and beyond I can’t decide, if I should just laugh or wonder, if her hippocampus, da part brain involved in forming memory may not have been affected during her tenure as one Papa Hubert’s trained seals cabinet ministers? Maybe, Atlantis Aquarium can use her but why would the red party even bother? Maybe. Loretta's hippocampus is just fine but being conveniently selective what her brain chooses recall? Problem is only the two trained Papa seals have yet to officially announce their run for red party leadership. Where is Comrade Brent? Most think the more acceptable of the three Papa Hubert trained seals?

BLT and the FNM have spoken loud an clear by their deafening silence that they do not support Bahamians and have no problem selling out the country for Haitian votes!
