LEAGUE

THE City Bowling League is hosting its annual Knockout Championships 7:30pm tonight, Wednesday and Thursday with the semi-finals and final starting 5:30pm Sunday.

In the series, bowlers will meet each other in a total pins over three games match. The winner advances and the loser is eliminated. The top eight male and female average bowlers will be given a bye into the final 16. The format continues until only the champions are left standing.

CHAMPIONSHIPS

THE Bahamas Association of Independent Secondary Schools softball best-of-three championships are slated to begin today at the Freedom Farm fields in Yamacraw.

The St Augustine’s College Big Red Machine will play in all four series - SAC’s senior boys will face the Nassau Christian Academy Crusaders, the junior boys will take on the Queen’s College Comets, the junior girls are up against the St Andrew’s Hurricanes in the semi-final game and the senior girls face the St Anne’s Bluewaves. Game two in each series is set for Wednesday. If necessary, game three will be played on Thursday.

THE Baptist Sports Council kicked off its 2014 Softball Classic at the Banker’s Field last week. Golden Gates won their double header over St John’s and St Paul’s in the co-ed and men’s games respectively.

Macedonia also pulled off their double header over St Paul’s co-ed and men’s teams.

TRACK

BSC TRACK MEET

THE Baptist Sports Council is scheduled to hold its annual Track and Field Classic at the Thomas A Robinson Track and Field Stadium on Saturday.

The event, sponsored by Rubis and Buttons Formal Wear, is slated to get started at 9am. Competition will be held in the 5-and-under, 15-and-under, 20-and-under, open and masters categories. Trophies will be presented to the most outstanding athletes in each category and medals will be given to the first three finishers in each event.
