GOLDEN Gates co-ed and Macedonia men remain undefeated in the Coca-Cola Softball Classic as the Baptist Sports Council completed another week of its short regular season action at the Bankers Field at the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex.

This week, the BSC will complete its final set of games in the round robin. Following those games, the best-of-three playoff series will begin on Tuesday, November 25.

On Thursday, in the co-ed game, Golden Gates knocked off St Paul’s Fox Hill 11-8 while Macedonia stunned Golden Gates 21-13 in the men’s slugfest.

Golden Gates 11, St Paul’s 8

Irwin Smith had a two-run double, scoring a run and both Richard Bain and Pheron Rolle had a two-run homer to lead their co-ed team to victory.

Ken Wood Jr, who was joined by Nicara Curtis in scoring two runs on one hit, was the winning pitcher. Harold ‘Banker’ Fritzgerald suffered the loss. Marcellus Hall and Zhivargo Archer were both 1-for-2 with two RBI for the losers. Hall scored two runs and Archer came home once.

Macedonia 21, Golden Gates 13

In a home derby, Courtney Smith had two shots in his 5-for-5 night with six RBI and four runs scored. Michael Ingraham left the park twice in his 3-for-4 outing with four RBI and three runs scored and Pedro Dean was 4-for-5 with a pair of round trippers, driving in four runs and scoring four times for the winners.

D’Kyle Rolle was the winning pitcher and Alfred ‘Skater’ Munnings was tagged with the loss. Jordan Gibson had a pair of solo homers in his 2-for-4 production at the plate for three RBI and two runs scored and Richard Bain was 2-for-4 with a two-run shot, finishing with three RBI and two runs scored and Nardo Gilbert was also 2-for-4 with a solo homer in a losing effort.
