Get courts working as fast as possible

EDITOR, The Tribune.

What if a PLP Cabinet Minister came to your house trick-a-treating – would you give the Minister candy or a lick of your tongue?

I suspect it will be mighty hard for some Ministers, especially those south of Robinson Road and off Carmichael, where there is considerable economic suffering, and probably little money to go and purchase any candies, as they are trying to keep BEC on and buy some food.

Crime that wretched cancer amongst us – where are the TEN new Law Courts, so energetically promised by our one and only Ms AG Super Fast?

A case in the Courts this week told a story – an abuse case – the accused had spent years in Fox Hill prison and bless the prosecution, they admitted it was their fault.

300+ murder cases to be heard – each takes 8-10 days – so how quickly will we clear away the backlog? Remember as we clear away, more murder cases occur at an average rate of 10 every 30 days...we are talking years, so we will continue for years to have multi-murder accused criminals out on bail, killing as they feel free to do.

“Swift” is what the AG said? Okay, she is not a contractor but with the high unemployment and high availability of good contractors, surely the Courts should have been up and working – isn’t that what Super Fast AG promised?

At least with the Courts working the Police have a chance – the bad boys, and we can’t discount the ladies, will be locked up and then Nassau will be sleeping quietly again.

Mr Prime Minister – you have to stop everything and spend 24/7 on this issue, get the Courts operating – no further delays, no further talk about Swiftness, when everything is at a dead stop.
