A Bahamian tourism promotion firm is using film to attract Chinese visitor attention to the Bahamas and convert it into travel.

Bahamaren said it was working with its partner, China Travel Service, to capitalise on opportunities that will cover the Bahamas’ tourism product

The promotion will take the form of a reality show, which will feature The Bahamas’ best tourism products and amenities.

The reality show is expected to host China’s top celebrities in ‘The Islands of the Bahamas’ in front of a viewing audience of more than 80 million people, featuring some of the experiences and the islands visited by the celebrities. Huibei TV will spend $ 8 million on producing the new travel reality show during its first season.

Bahamaren said the film crew is expected to visit the Bahamas as early as next month. It was expected to be filmed in January, but was rescheduled to feature the Bahamas Carnival and the opening of Baha Mar.
