POLICE have issued a wanted bulletin for an escaped prisoner who ran from officers while he was about to be transferred from Grand Bahama to New Providence.

According to police, armed robbery convict Shem Edward Solomon, 40, was about to board a flight to New Providence to be imprisoned at the Department of Correctional Services in Fox Hill when he broke off running on Saturday morning.

The convict, who has resided at No 7 Epsom Road in Freeport and in Hanna Hill in Eight Mile Rock, is considered armed and dangerous, police said.

This is not the first time that Solomon has fled while in custody.

During his arraignment in Grand Bahama last year, he was charged with three counts of armed robbery, one count of attempted armed robbery and one count of escape of lawful custody.

Solomon is about five feet, six inches tall, weighs 140 lbs, and is slim built with a medium brown complexion and short hair.

Anyone who has seen or knows of his whereabouts is asked to contact the police in Grand Bahama at 242-350-3107/8, 911/919 or call the nearest police station.

Last September, police arrested Solomon after issuing a wanted poster for him.

At the time, police said they wanted him for questioning in connection with a number of armed robbery investigations in Grand Bahama.

If you saw tonight's news with the two very obese officers escorting a prisoner to court , you could understand how the convict escaped. Maybe they need the canine sections,so when he is bitten and caught you would hear " OWWW! Who let the dogs out!"
