POLICE are investigating an incident where a woman was reportedly shot in the thigh by her nephew.
According to reports, the woman had been involved in an altercation with her nephew who was embroiled in a dispute with her son on Baillou Hill Road South.
The shooting occurred shortly before 8pm on Thursday when the woman was standing in front of a home in Garden Hills #3.
According to police, her nephew, armed with her handgun, approached her and shot her in the thigh before fleeing on foot. The woman was transported to hospital, where she is detained in stable condition.
Police Chief Supt Clayton Fernander told The Big T that even though police had not yet located the suspect, all efforts were being made to get him into custody.
