32-year-old held after stabbing

GRAND Bahama police have arrested a 32-year-old man in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred in Freeport.

Police Inspector Terecita Pinder reported that around 2am on Friday police received information that two men were fighting at a residence on Frobisher Drive.

One of the men was stabbed about the body and the other man suffered injuries to his face.

Ms Pinder said both men were taken to the Rand Memorial Hospital, where they were treated for their injuries.

Abaco arrest

In other crime news, a 43-year-old male resident of Spring City, Abaco is in police custody after he was claimed that he was caught with an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

According to Inspector Pinder, police received information around 2pm on Friday that Defence Force officers had allegedly found a man in possession of an unlicensed 12-gauge shot gun with 25 live rounds of ammunition on board a vessel at the dock in Marsh Harbour, Abaco.

The suspect, along with the firearm, was handed over to the police.
