DREAM DAY FOR CANCER SURVIVOR

IT WAS certainly the stuff of which fairy tales are made - young girl is diagnosed with bone cancer in her early twenties and has to lose her leg. Then, in a chance encounter at an airport, she meets her prince, they fall madly in love and a few years later wed in a magical ceremony arranged by their own fairy godmother and her team of magical assistants.

And while real life rarely duplicates a Disney movie, the fairytale came true for Erin and Tametryo Brown yesterday morning. Winners of the Cancer Survivor Wedding in Paradise sponsored by Tennille Darville, of Five Seasons Bridal, and Atlantis and the Counsellors Limited, they married in a stunning beachfront ceremony at The Reef.

The entire wedding from dress to ceremony decor, reception, cake, bridal party attire, invitations, party favours and honeymoon were all donated to a couple who truly deserves a happily ever after.

Speaking to The Big T, the happy couple couldn’t contain their joy or their tears.

“This was just so magical, it was better than anything I could have ever imagined and I am just so happy and so blessed and grateful, not only to all the sponsors who gave their talents, but to my wedding guests who cheerfully got up literally at the crack of dawn to be a part and come celebrate with us,” the new Mrs Brown said.

Her husband added: “This is a wonderful day, and it just feels really great to be married to her.”

The wedding was televised live on Bahamas at Sunrise.
