CHAMPION Amateur Boxing Club hosted its 21st Annual L Garth Wright Sr Golden Gloves Amateur Boxing Tournament at the Wulff Road Boxing Square on Saturday.
In results posted, LaShawn McKinney defeated Rodniko Mackey 33-25, Wilmond Philippe def. Shanton Jean 45-40 and James Armbrister def. Trevano Taylor 25-22.
In exhibition matches, Gerinique Stubbs fought Isabella Jean, James Armbrister fought Desinique Wilson and Lennox Boyce and Joseph Hall teamed up against Don Rolle and Reggie Danlag.
The best fight of the night was between Wilmond Philippe and Shaton Jeanith, the most improved boxer was LaShawn McKinney and the most outstanding boxer was James Armbrister.
The next event is “The Champ is Here” amateur boxing show scheduled for 7:30pm October 25 at the Wulff Road Boxing Square.
