POLICE are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a European man while on a snorkelling trip to Rose Island yesterday.
According to Supt Stephen Dean, the 52-year-old was with a group of visitors in waters off Rose Island “when he became unresponsive.”
Supt Dean said CPR was performed on the man but he did not regain consciousness.
“The man was taken to shore where he was later pronounced dead,” Supt Dean said.
