A JAMAICAN man is on the run after a short struggle with police at the Carmichael Road police station on Thursday.
Authorities yesterday appealed to anyone with information that can assist them in tracking down 53-year-old Lance McDonald to come forward.
According to reports, sometime around 7.20am, officers at the station attempted to place McDonald – who lives on Carmichael Road and is formerly of Westmoreland, Jamaica – into a cell.
Police said McDonald resisted the officers and was able to escape after a short struggle in the station. He was arrested for illegally entering the Bahamas.
Central Detective Unit Chief Paul Rolle told The Big T that the police are in the process of acquiring a photograph of McDonald as he escaped before officers could take his picture.

The ongoing drug turf war between Jamaican gangs wanting to take over ganja distribution and intrenched Bahamian drug gangs is rapidly escalating into a three way drug war as Haitian gangs enter the picture to control cocaine distribution.
The recession hit low income individuals the hardest rendering them jobless and unable to maintain drug habits which led to decreased drug sales across the board, and a shrinking customer market share for distributors to draw on.
Major drug dealers in New Providence are violent illegal immigrants from Haiti and Jamaica.
Getting control of illegal immigrants is the sole solution to an escalating crime dilemma that has already damaged tourism and will further erode our # 1 industry if government continue burying their head in the said by ignoring the fact that the sharp rise in crime is directly linked to increased illegal immigration.
*One Jamaican kicking a whole police station ass and walking out is a sad indictment. Who will protect Bahamians if savage Haitians decide to make good on their "Colombian Necktie" threat?*

Ok, let's not point any fingers now. There is good and bad in every natiionality. Moreover consider that in order for someone to sell drugs there have to be a buyer. I'm not condoning with what the Jamaican man does, but there's always two side to a story
