Fam Fest 'best ever'

OF ALL the events in its 19-year history, this year’s Fam Fest was “the best one ever”, according to founder William Mark Cartwright.
The three-day family festival is built on the foundations of Bahamian gospel music and clean fun. Due to a forecast of inclement weather it was held at the William Thompson Auditorium on Jean Street instead of Fort Charlotte.

The festival featured Grammy-award nominated musicians Tye Tribbett, Mark Felder, Canton Jones and Ricky Dillard, as well as many locals acts.

Although the event’s venue had to change, Mr Cartwright told Tribune Arts and Entertainment that everything went smoothly and the concert turned out to be extremely successful.

“It was hands down the best ever. The weather was good and we had a full house on all three days of the festival. So despite mishaps along the way with the venue being changed because of the unpredictable weather, things went well,” he said.
