Food store manager robbed in bank parking lot in broad daylight

POLICE are on the hunt for two masked men who robbed a food store manager at gunpoint of a deposit bag in a bank parking lot yesterday morning.

According to reports, the female manager of John Chea No 3 parked her vehicle in the parking lot of Commonwealth Bank on Wulff Road and began walking toward the entrance of the bank. As she arrived at the bank’s door, she was approached by two masked men. One of the men was armed with a handgun.

The men robbed the woman of the deposit bag before fleeing the area in a silver coloured four-door sedan.

No one was hurt during the robbery. Police were unable to say how much money was stolen.

• In other news, police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man, allegedly shot by a store owner during an attempted armed robbery, police said.

Yesterday, police identified the victim as 23-year-old Enego Prescott Louis, of Yellow Elder Gardens.

The attempted robbery occurred just after 12:30pm Monday at a store on Lincoln Boulevard, however, police would not reveal the name of the establishment.

Police said the man later “turned up” at the Princess Margaret Hospital yesterday afternoon with several gunshot wounds in his chest.

According to police, the victim arrived at the hospital around 2pm and died of his injuries a short time later.

Police have a man in custody who is assisting them with their investigations.
