The issues of the day

EDITOR, The Tribune.

Between scanning the newspapers and the casual listening to Talk Radio whilst I drive some issues hit me and need comment on.

(1) BAMSI - can’t government understand that no one believes what you are saying – we see the buildings partially completed and there is no way they can be completed and receive occupancy under normal conditions before the other side of Christmas. My suggestion: complete the complex then fanfare the completion.

(2) Waste to Energy - Ex-FNM Minister Neymour is talking rubbish.....why cut down the pine forest to feed waste-energy plant when there is enough waste generated? Mr Neymour: cost out solar water-heater against the cost of an on off switch and leaving an electric water-heater on for 30 minutes. Not economical, sir. It is possible to keep your BEC bill under $250 and use a/e in the evenings.

(3) PLP on Bahamians/Residents not able to freely gamble at the licensed casinos – what’s the difference between you can’t under law and you still can’t, but the Minister has the right later to decide when we can? You are still not allowed to!

(4) When is Prime Minister Christie going to appoint a new Cabinet Minister who will be directly responsible for the morality and ethical practice of The Bahamas?

I doubt there are any candidates who could qualify.....but still Government is trying to legislate morality. They think we still child.
