Cybots take 3-1 lead

THE Bamboo Shack Cybots moved one game closer to winning the Bahamas Government Departmental Basketball Association’s 2014 championship title.

At the DW Davis Gymnasium on Wednesday night, the Cybots took a commanding 3-1 lead in their best-of-seven series against the Police Crimestoppers with a 92-76 decision.

Brian ‘Tucker’ Bain stepped it up, scoring a game high 23 points to lead four other players in double figures in the win. Eugene Bain had 20 points with a game high 20 rebounds, Ernest Saunders had 14 points and 10 rebounds, Cordero Seymour had 12 points and 10 rebounds as well and Georgio Walkes added 12 points. Billy Sands helped out with nine points and 10 rebounds.

In a losing effort for the Crimestoppers, Ishmael Curtis canned 21 points with eight rebounds, Dario Seymour had 17 points, Vernon Stubbs 13 points and Mark Hanna 12 points.

Bamboo Shack could win the title in game five scheduled for 8pm tonight. However, if the Police win, game six will be played on Saturday night. If necessary, the seventh and final game will be played on Monday.
