THE Bahamas Association of Athletic Associations is mourning the loss of another one of its members.

Dwayne Jennings, a special projects executive in the BAAA and a coach from Grand Bahama, died Friday at the Princess Margaret Hospital after spending the past several months undergoing treatment for a stroke and kidney failure. He was 37.

At one point in August, BAAA president Mike Sands had made a plea for persons to donate blood to Jennings, who was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where his condition remained unchanged.

Jennings, who represented the Bahamas as a coach on the Jr Pan American team in 2011, was one of those who constantly agitated for more focus being placed on the athletes in the BAAA, especially those from Grand Bahama. He was a coach from the Golden Eagles Track Club.
