One shot, three stabbed in weekend incidents

SEVERAL people were stabbed during a domestic dispute and a man was shot in two separate incidents in New Providence over the weekend. Police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward as investigations continue.

Police said that on Saturday around 7:30pm, they were called to a bar at Kingston Street, off Kemp Road, reporting that a man had been injured. Once they arrived, police said a 23-year-old man of Carib Road reported that he was standing outside the bar when a person he did not know shot him in the buttocks.

He was taken by ambulance to the Princess Margaret Hospital a short time later where his condition is listed as stable.

Later, at around 8pm, police said a number of people were stabbed at Ghana Circle in Elizabeth Estates.

According to reports, a 56-year-old woman and her fianc� got into an argument when other persons joined in. Police said the argument escalated quickly into a physical assault in which three people were stabbed multiple times.

The 56-year-old woman was stabbed, also injured was a 24-year-old woman and a man, who left the scene in a private vehicle. Police said the injuries were not life threatening.
