A POPULAR fixture on The Tribune’s calendar for 15 years, the Easter Colouring Contest brought nine excited young children to the newspaper’s office last week as the winners of the 2015 were declared.

The top three in the 4-5 age group were Gabriella Joseph, Gianne Nairn and Israel Fowler; Shaniyah Pinder, Jaada Cumberbatch and Angelino Cooper were the top three in the 6-8 age group; while Laurel Fraser, Devinie Moss Jr and Jerry Styles were the winners in the 9-10 group.

The Easter Colouring Contest is a community outreach effort conducted by The Tribune and Kelly’s Home Centre. On Thursday, and in time for Easter, officials from Kelly’s and The Tribune presented the nine children from three age categories each with large gift baskets from Kelly’s, filled with colouring books and other trinkets to enjoy.

Afterwards, the children had the opportunity to take photographs with officials from The Tribune and Kelly’s with their parents and loved ones present.

Godfrey Arthur, Sales Manager of The Tribune, expressed his delight at the event.

“We are pleased that Kelly’s has partnered with us over these 15 years or more,” he said. “It’s always a joy to see the faces of the children and their parents during the presentations. It is truly priceless.”

“There is nothing more ‘eggs-travagant’ than a smiling, happy child during Easter,” Kelly’s Buyer Taisha Lloyd added.

If I had known the Easter baskets were that big I would have entered my own colouring. Congrats to the kids, don't eat everything at once
