A FREEPORT man was charged with murder in the Freeport Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

Andy Renaldo Smith, 21, appeared in Court Two before Magistrate Charlton Smith. He is the fourth person charged with the murder of Kevin Harvey.

It is alleged that on January 7, Smith and others intentionally caused the death of Harvey, 28, at Coral Gardens. Harvey’s death was the island’s first homicide for 2015.

Smith was not required to enter a plea to the murder charge. He was remanded to the Department of Correctional Services in New Providence. A preliminary inquiry into the matter will be held on June 24.

In other court news, an Eight Mile Rock man accused of causing harm was arraigned in the Eight Mile Rock Magistrate’s Court.

Dre Alice, 20, of Pinedale appeared before Magistrate Gwendolyn Claude. He pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted $3,000 bail with one surety.
