Embrace the Junkanoo Carnival

EDITOR, The Tribune.

Please permit me to enlighten my fellow Bahamians, brothers and sisters, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls.

We must reverse or negative thinking about our Junkanoo Carnival to be celebrated.

Why? It is Bahamian as conch salad. Junkanoo was celebrated at Clifton from 1815 to the present day. This was the first time that slaves were given holidays. At Christmas (”Whylly rules and regulations 1815”).

Why don’t we see that junkanoo is going global?

why don’t we see that this is not a PLP event, this is not an FNM event this is a Bahamian event.

Junkanoo is Bahamian. Carnival is defined as a street party so I say the Junkanoo Carnival is simply a Junkanoo Street Party.

Let’s embrace it!
