TWO men were taken to hospital with burns after a fire broke out onboard a vessel at Freeport Harbour on Friday morning.
The incident occurred around 10am in the area of City Services on Queens Highway, where workers were aboard a 160-foot vessel. It is not known whether the victims were Bahamians and expatriates.
Inspector Terecita Pinder of Grand Bahama Police reported that officers from Fire Branch responded. She said two male workers had received “non life-threatening” injuries and transported to the Rand Memorial Hospital, where they received medical treatment.
Inspector Pinder said the firemen, with the assistance of the BORCO safety team, checked the vessel to ensure that it was safe. Investigations are continuing into the cause of the fire.
