Nassau has earned the moniker “Dodge City”, with its daily shootouts and gun related violence.
Then comes along “biggity” Fred Mitchell, the “fastest tongue” in the Commonwealth, the “Wyatt Earp” of Cabinet, who has in effect, warned Sarkis Izmirlian to be out of “Dodge City” by sundown!
Sarkis Izmirlian is a long time resident and a major investor, with the intent and potential to provide many jobs in “Dodge City”. We all know of the correlation between crime and unemployment. However, Izmirlian has committed the cardinal sin of offending the extreme sensitivity of the petty PLP.
But you know, there is another long time resident of Lyford Cay called Nygard. What has he invested in the Bahamas to date? We are all aware that he invested “heavily” in the PLP’s 2012 General Election campaign!
Shortly after the PLP won the 2012 General Elections, it appears that he “summoned” the newly formed cabinet to Nygard Cay. The majority of them were there “grinning” from ear to ear on video. Subsequently, Peter Nygard made a series of public statements that offended me as a Bahamian.
I was particularly insulted when Nygard made his grandiose appearance in Bain Town, like some conquering hero.
What I find so astonishing is that not one member of the PLP hierarchy, these supposedly ultra-nationalist Bahamians, took umbrage to his (Nygards’s) bombastic statements. Not even Big Bad Brad, the intrepid defender of all things PLP. Not a feeble pomp out of them, no not one!
Which begs the question: is Perry and his calamity cabinet crazy? Or are we crazy for tolerating them?

Mr. Armbrister - why don't you just speak plain English and say you want all white foreign investors kicked out of the country?
The Haitians can teach us how to grow plaintain, and how to live on next to nothing.

@TheMadHatter, i don't think you read the above article,because if you did,you would notice that the crux of the article is the different ways the PLP hierarchy treat both investors. If the former prime minister had brought Nygard to Bain's Town could you imagine how the PLP, especially the ones mentioned in this article would have carried on? When the late Sir Edward St.George once mentioned that Freeport should change its name , Fred Mitchell said that he was right, but he should not have been the person to say it. In others words invest your money,but keep your mouth closed. If you can remember, Perry Christie and Sarkis were once very close and even considered friends, but if your brother were a mechanic and did work on your car to the tune of $900 and the work was not satisfactory, you would complain. Imagine spending $900,000.000.
