THE Commando Security Truckers and the Johnson Lady Truckers stopped their opponents in the fifth and sixth innings respectively as the New Providence Softball Association continued its regular season action in the Bankers Field at the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex on Saturday night.

In the men’s feature contest, the Truckers doubled up the JMEL Panthers 18-8, while the Lady Truckers whitewashed the Black Scorpions 7-0.

Lamar Watkins had two hits and scored four runs, while Marion Johnson had one hit with a run batted in (RBI) and scored twice to pace Commando Security. Garfield Bethel also had two hits, while Jay Seymour had three hits with three RBI and three runs scored and Courtney Smith had one hit with three runs scored.

The Truckers powered their way to victory, scoring four runs in the first inning - one in the second, two in the third, five in the fourth and six in the fifth.

Sean Adderley gave up seven hits and struck out nine for the win on the mound. Prescott Wilson was tagged with the loss on 10 hits and two strikeouts.

Rodney Forbes paced the Panthers with a perfect 4-for-4 night, including a solo home run and D’Kyle Rolle had two hits with a RBI and two runs scored.

Lady Truckers 7,

Scorpions 0

Sheena Taylor had a pair of hits, including a two-run in-the-park homer to lead Johnson. Dawayna Pratt helped out with one hit, scoring two runs and Ruthann Simms had two hits with a RBI and two runs scored.

The Lady Truckers scored twice in the second, once in the fourth, three times in the fifth and another in the sixth for the stoppage.

Valencia Gibson got the win on the mound on a two-hitter with eight strikeouts.

Sherry Bowleg and LaShan Taylor had the two hits for the losers.
