Regarding the letter published in your paper by Save The Bays:

While I am disappointed with the inaccuracies in their recitation of the facts and law in the response to my settlement proposal by Louis Bacon-backed Save The Bays, I nevertheless remain hopeful that Mr Bacon and his Save The Bays group will put their egos and posturing aside and sit down seriously to try to put an end to this feud for the good of the people of The Bahamas. To that end, I am having my representatives contact theirs to do just that.

As is well documented, I have for years made significant contributions to the betterment of The Bahamas and its less-fortunate residents, particularly with respect to Black Bahamians – not only through cash contributions, but I have opened up my home time and time again. This is not something that I believe at least some of the other participants in this wide-ranging litigation can say.

I look forward to putting this all behind us so we can all work for the good of the island and people I love so dearly.
