Weep for the country

EDITOR, The Tribune,

In your December 11 publication, Governor General Dame Marguerite Pindling has lamented that “somebody has fallen down on the job” and that she feels “like weeping” and the Prime Minister is “stunned” by yet another young life lost to violence and of the crime situation which now requires the government investing in security equipment in schools.

Here we have two people occupying the two highest offices in the country sitting in positions of power to do whatever it takes to find a solution, and yet by what they say evidently they choose not to comprehend that the buck stops with them.

Weep for the country. Your government is the somebody who has fallen down on the job!

As long as people believe this is all the Government fault there will be no solutions to the crime problem.

And I am writing about any Government. DNA, FNM or PLP. Check the homes first before you point fingers.

Birdie, it starts and stops at the TOP. It is a fact that the politicians do NOT obey their own laws, you think the man on the street does not know that and say, "well if they can break the law, why not me." For supposed leaders they (politicians) are most certainly NOT leading by example. Also the fact that politicians bully civil servants and get their crony's out of trouble on a regular (V. A. Gray) does not help the rule of law. There is no defense for these malcontents.

What about the bare foot bandit. Pray tell who interfered with the Law Then? the young man had a gun he break into persons stores. remember the police were going to charge him. The young black male offences pale in comparison. There are enough young black men in jail for minor offences, being exposed to jail sentences does not make them better citizens. check the homes it all start there. the home is the first school and the first church. but I do admit some parent try.

Lynden Oscar Swindling set the moral compass of the Bahamas and created the corrupt society that we now enjoy today. It is just going to get more chaotic and anarchy will reign as the people will suffer extreme privation. We are on the road to Hell, and there is no turning back unless the people seize back the government for the people and by the people.

You hit the nail on the head with this statement! The man was an embarrassment and was regarded as a criminal by several foreign policing agencies. He got where he was by cuddling up to drug dealers and a hoard of other criminals, yet this delusional country glorifies him at every opportunity. As for the evil witch he was married to - what qualifies her to be Governor General??? SMT! Bahamians need to stop sticking their heads in the sand!!

The FNM's know better than what they write, But one must give them credit that a million years will pass before the world will produce bigger liars than they are. Sir Pindling did more good than the Delivery boy. And any good that came out of you all delivery boy was imparted to him by no less than Sir Pindling. so get over it. The man is with the Lord now. And may his soul rest in PEACE.
