It was with a great sense of sadness that I learned of the death of the late Carmita Louise Edwards.

Mrs Edwards was a very classy lady and one of the leading cosmetologists in The Bahamas in her day.

Before relocating to Grand Bahama she assisted the actors and actresses (including myself) of the Bahama Drama Circle and later the Dundas Centre for The Performing Arts with their theatrical make up and hairdos.

She was followed by the very talented Karen Archer but we still missed Mrs Edwards who always managed to make us look “just right”.

I will always remember the black eye she gave me for “The Gingerbread Lady”, which earned her much kudos.

May she rest in peace and I extend my condolences and those of my fellow thespians who benefitted from her talent, to the family.
