A new home for Christmas - a winner celebrates

NESBITT Smith has received the best Christmas present he could wish for - he is going home for the holidays.

Mr Smith won the keys to his own home in the FML Group of Companies’ “All I Want For Christmas” promotion. On Wednesday, Arawak Homes President, Franon Wilson, presented Mr Smith with the title deed and keys to a three-bedroom, two-bathroom house in Mount Moriah Estates near the six-legged roundabout.

Smith, who was watched by his sister, Deborah Beneby, and cousin, Mami Johnson, at the ceremony said he was at a loss for words at the news. "But I give thanks. I am so appreciative. I know the Father has brought me from a long way and He keeps me,” he said. “I’m one of the happiest men in the world right now. I was sure a present was going to come for me. I thought I was going to win something for the Christmas holiday.

"I never knew it was a house. I thought I was going to be a car and that I’d get a different ride this year. But, I’m so grateful.”

The promotion, a joint partnership between FML, Arawak Homes and Cable Bahamas, gave FML customers a chance to win a new house for Christmas.

Arawak Homes Chairman Franklyn Wilson congratulated Mr Smith for winning the home. “The time of the year makes it particularly special. We are pleased that the FML Group of Companies chose Arawak Homes to be the builder of this home. We are pleased that they have expressed such pleasure at the quality of the house. That’s the standard for us,” said Mr Wilson. Mr Smith’s home was insured by Sunshine Insurance (Agents & Brokers) Ltd.

A second winner, Arnold Cargill, also has a new home.
