Two dead, two fighting for life after Abaco traffic accident

TWO people - a 43-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman - are dead and two others are fighting for their lives in hospital after they were involved in a traffic accident in Abaco early on Christmas Eve.

According to police reports, shortly after midnight a serious accident occurred on Don McKay Boulevard involving a black 2003 Mercedes Benz with a lone driver and a white Honda Civic with five passengers.

Both vehicles were extensively damaged.

Emergency Medical Services were called to the scene for assistance and transported the victims to the local clinic.

Four of the passengers in the Honda Civic were seriously injured and two were later pronounced dead at the Marsh Harbour Clinic.

Two other passengers were airlifted to New Providence for further medical attention and are listed in critical condition.

Police investigations continue.
